Revisit soon to learn about our international teaching schedule, journeys to India, and our hospital-based programs of cooking and herbal formulation preparation while you are undergoing pancakarma nestled in the oceanside jungle of Udupi.

DINacharya is pleased to announce our affiliate hospital in south India for comprehensive Ayurvedic care and pancakarma cleansing.
Nestled in a rural corner surrounded by tropical oceanside forest, just outside Udupi, the Dhanvantari Ayurvedic Hospital for vata-vyadhi sees patients with all conditions and provides both inpatient and outpatient treatment of pancakarma, physiotherapy, and actively uses skillful prescriptions of rasa-ausadhies for deep healing.
Dr. Satyajith V. Kadkol works with his team of several vaidyas to provide you the best experience possible.
International patients visit regularly and stay at the hospital from 7 to 40 days. The cost, all-inclusive, is Rs.6995 per day, just under USD$100.

From pickup at the Udupi railway station or airport in Mangalore (IXE), the hospital arranges for a full course of treatment. After initial assessment, the patient spends 1-3 days at a resort nestled in nature, to reduce the common chanchalatva (lack of stillness and aggravated vata caused by travel), during which only herbal formulations are prepared and given.

After the initial rest period, Dr. Satyajith transfers the patient to the hospital and begins with a course that is specifically tailored to loosen the ama (toxins) out of the channels and bring them to the skin, gut, or lung.  The digestive fires are assessed and optimized for the intensive.

During the purvakarma intensive, the body is prepared for deep cleaning. A variety of snehana (oil treatments) and swedana (sweating and heating) are used to gather the imbalanced and malfunctioning doshas in preparation for their exit from the body. During this time the body becomes weak, and the mind becomes sensitive, vulnerable, and ready to release toxins. Old memories appear, and old injuries are felt. Dr. Satyajith helps you let them go.
Called pradhānkarma, the core process of pancakarma then begins and can last from 2 to 10 days.  Toxins are drawn out from the gut, from the mouth, from the skin, from the mind, from the lungs. Another assessment confirms whether your body was able to rid the toxins.  Within 1-2 days, people usually show visible signs of improvement.

Paschatkarma is the most neglected portion of pancakarma, as it requires willpower and time. The process of rebuilding the digestive fire, then the mental resilience, then the physical strength is gradual, and in today's world, it is devalued. Morning walks and quiet daily guided meditation are encouraged. Foods are reintroduced slowly while monitoring the digestive fire and gut functions for signs of strength and improvement.

A boat ride on the river Surya, a visit to the famous Krishna Temple in Udupi, other visits to the many temples in the area based on your specific needs, some shopping, and time in Nature will complement your stay.  A puja will be performed at the end of your treatment period.

Welcome to the authentic healing experience.
